What comes after a remake or reboot?

Ever since the year 2000, many films have been getting remade such as Horror films and Slasher films. Most of those films are got remade since there are no more original ideas out there anymore. There is going to be a day when every film has been remade. I'll go crazy if someone ever remakes Jurassic Park. I have a feeling that remakes are even going to be remade someday because nothing original is coming out anymore. I read recently that Spider-Man is getting rebooted in 2012. I don't think that is a good idea because I think the Spider-Man trilogy could have kept going. This is going to happen to many great films or franchises someday and its upsetting.

  1. I disagree, remakes can be fantastic. Just think of all the new technology, sci-fi effects, and special effects that now can be added to enhance the visual contents. Many old drama movies have been made over using newer star's and better effects, in color, and the movies are just terrific. I think it all depends on the producer and director, the budget, and which stars are utilized. Just my thoughts.

  3. I completely agree. Not only do they remake old movies, but they also take old television shows and make movies out of them. The Smurfs are coming to the big screen this summer. I don’t even think kids today know who they are. It would be nice if someone could have an original idea and not keep going back and redoing things that are already good. And I have to agree with Cody that they better not remake back to the Future. Justin Bieber is no Michael J. Fox.

  4. Oh dear god Justin Bieber in Back to the Future remake. Anyway, with remakes of already fantastic movies/tv series, there will always be a split between two groups of people. Those who are happy and curious to see who will play their old favorites and how it will end up like, or those who disagree and wish to keep their fond memories of the original movie the way it was. I do find it interesting what a movie series such as the Bourne series, who's protagonist is so closely tied to Matt Damon (who wanted to act in strictly only three Bourne movies)would be like in the remake with a Matt Damon-less Jason Bourne.

  5. True, there are some remakes out there we could have done without, but there are other examples that I thought came out better than the originals. I probably would not go see a Back to the Future remake with Justin, but I was very pleased with the remake of the Star Trek. I could have done without the remake of the Hulk with Ed Norton, but I really liked the grittier remake of S.W.A.T. So I try to keep an open mind when it comes to remakes
