Are all four of a horse's hooves ever off the ground at the same time

This question was actually a common debate in 1878, and was answered in the first motion picture ever made by Eadward Muybridge.

    great post, jsut would have like to see a picture of the example, see before the intial thought was that horse would always have their hooves touching the ground while galloping. But muybridge proved them wrong and should the actual gallop of a horse.
